CPUC Approves First-in-State Pilot Program for Drivered Autonomous Vehicle Passenger Service
January 7, 2019
The California Public Utilities Commission recently (12/21) authorized Zoox, Inc. to participate in California's first pilot providing "drivered" autonomous vehicle (AV) passenger service to the public. Passengers can ride in a vehicle that operates autonomously, and Zoox must have a trained test driver present in the driver's seat and ready to take over if needed. Zoox may not charge passengers for any rides in test AVs.    more

New Mobility Paradigms Influence Electric Vehicle Charging Requirements
October 31, 2018
Today's electric vehicle (EV) owners usually charge their vehicles at home, seldom using public fast chargers. Ride-hailing companies' growing interest in operating EVs in their fleets could trigger a significant increase in the demand for public fast chargers, ultimately making them more economically feasible.    more

New York Power Authority Receives Funding to Develop Advanced Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
October 24, 2018
The New York Power Authority (NYPA), North Carolina State University and ABB Group recently received $2.67 million in funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to develop an intelligent, grid-friendly, modular extreme fast charging system for electric vehicles (EV).
