Dan Hancu
Carbon Capture Technology Manager
National Energy Technology Laboratory
Dan has over 20 years' experience in technical management, techno-economic analysis, and technology translation from bench, pilot to commercial scale both in the public and private sector. During his tenure at General Electric, Dan developed deep technical expertise in material and process development for carbon dioxide separation and utilization, supercritical carbon dioxide processes, energy storage and emission control technologies for power generation. Dan Hancu worked also at Booz Allen Hamilton as a senior technical advisor supporting ARPA-E's initiatives in flexible carbon capture and methane pyrolysis with value carbon co-product. Dan is the author of over 70 patents and patent applications, and 25 peer reviewed papers. He is the recipient of the Green Chemistry Challenge Award, EPA for the development on non-fluorous CO2-philic materials. Dan obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, studying reactions and separations in supercritical CO2.
