Chris Meister is the Executive Director of the Illinois Finance Authority, which is designated in Illinois law as the Climate Bank. In 2022, our first full calendar as the Climate Bank, the Authority mobilized and deployed $250 million in private capital for climate finance projects in Illinois and 65% of these investments were made in or benefited disadvantaged communities. While serving on the USEPA Environmental Financial Advisory Board, Chris co-wrote a report on "Financing Lead Risk Reduction." As the Climate Bank, the Authority has more than $200 million in currently pending applications for federal funding.
